Beginning Yoga - A class that introduces you to yoga postures (asana) and proper alignment; to the importance of yogic breathwork (pranayama); to calming the mind using dharana (focus) and dhyana (meditation); and the path path... This is the class that opens the door, but you have to walk thru . Oh, and the path is yours, whatever you shall make it. Yoga is not a religion, but it can draw you closer to your spiritual connection or you can just enjoy all the physical benefits. Go with the Flow - All Levels - Sometimes we need a more vigorous practice to release stress and tension that has our bodies and minds wrapped so tight, and sometimes we need a more gentle practice in acceptance of our selves just as we are and to honor our gentle spirit. This is an all levels class that offers both options, but (as always in life on the mat and off the mat) the choice is always yours. We kick off the class with 30 minutes of Sun Salutations into standing poses, igniting the inner fire to burn impurities and establish mental focus. If you parked your car in the garage for 5 years, it probably wouldn't work very well once you tried to start it up. Detox Vinyasa
Not a "hot yoga class", but definitely a warmer external environment to build your inner fire and encourage the release of physical and emotional toxins that build up within. Pilates/ Yoga Core - When we come from a strong center, we find that much needed support to carry us through physical and emotional issues. So, let's focus on building the core with a combination of yoga and pilates. Inner Journey Yoga with PsychYoga
Yoga balances the mind, body and spirit through breath and movement. PsychYoga is a new type of yoga that incorporates aspects of psychotherapy. Becky Astarita, LMSW and co-founder of AltraSource, Inc., teaches classes on Wednesdays at 5:30pm.
The issues most of us deal with daily, including, anxiety, grief, happiness, trust, doubt, fear, acceptance, forgiveness, addiction, anger, love, spiritual unrest, and more... always shows up and presents itself! Sometimes, it appears physically with low back pain or decreased flexibility, sometimes emotionally with fears of taking a chance, or difficulties speaking up, and sometimes it's spiritual with an inability to quiet the mind or fears of rejection.
PsychYoga class will address core issues in a fun, safe, nurturing environment! Each participant will learn how to recognize the signs/symptoms of core issues, how to access/actively address each with breath/specific poses and how to jump start into self-healing! Your invited to join in the journey. Please wear comfortable yoga attire and bring yoga props and (optional) journals. Be ready to move, to breathe and to become your own best friend again!

Reiki Yoga
A yoga class designed to offer individuals hands-on-Reiki support as we breathe into areas of our bodies that may hold blocked energy. Blocked energy manifests itself on each plane of the body -- physically, emotionally and spiritually. Physically, it may show up with unexplained body aches, decreased range of motion, fatigue or decreased flexibility. Emotionally, blocked energy may reveal itself in feelings of anger, frustration, a deep sadness, irritation, anxiety, neediness ,etc. Spiritually, blocked energy may present itself with an inability to connect deeply to oneself, others, or in difficulties quieting the mind.
Reiki Yoga AM and PM classes are created for anyone ready to transform their lives on whole new levels emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Reiki, an ancient form of energy healing uses Rei (universal ) and Ki (energy) to support the mind, body and spirit in self-healing. As blocked energy stores are accessed in each level of the body, new waves of energy flow unimpeded, bringing feelings of increased well-being, strength, clarity, unconditional love and more!
Come Join us for the Reiki Yoga AM - Tuesdays at 6:00 am class which is designed specifically to wake ourselves up for the day, as we breathe new life into old areas of our beings. After class, stop over in the Lotus Leaf Healthy Market to brew a fresh cup of specially blended tea to arouse the senses as your morning begins!
If you are more of an evening person, come enjoy our Reiki Yoga PM - Wednesdays 7pm class --designed to release accumulated stress from the day with soothing, more meditative poses. A calming and restful brew of tea will also be available at the Lotus Leaf Healthy Market to insure a restful evening -- but we don't advise enjoying your first sip until your drive home is complete!
Reiki Yoga classes welcome all levels and ages of students! However, due to the individual attention, class sizes will be limited, so do register in advance to guarantee a space.
Our Instructor, Becky Astarita is a psychotherapist, yoga teacher and Reiki Master. She first became aware of the energy in her hands over 13 years ago and sought medical treatment. After being told it was a reaction to stress, she learned to live with the different hot/cold/vibrations/swelling sensations until she met her first Reiki teacher a few years later. Becky has now been a Reiki Master/Teacher since April 2005 and welcomes the opportunity to serve. She is also available for private Reiki Sessions by calling 615-426-7231.

Tai-Chi Class
Originating in ancient China, Tai-Chi was created on the basis of nature and harmony. The gentle flowing movements contain inner power that strengthens the body, improves mental balance and brings better health and harmony to one's life. Now practiced all over the world, it is considered one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body.
Almost anyone can learn Tai-Chi...the movements are slow and gentle, and the degree of exertion can be easily adjusted, making it suitable for people of all ages and levels of ability. This hour-long class will begin with gentle warm ups to settle the mind, relax the body and loosen body joints, followed by 50 minutes of Zheng Man-Ching style Tai-Chi Chuan exercises to promote qi (energy) and blood circulation to nourish the organs and achieve inner peace and tranquility. |

"It All Begins with the Breath"

This class is completely dedicated to reconnecting with our breath! Participants will experience a greater sense of wellbeing and clarity as breathing exercises, meditations and gentle movements are practiced. As we focus and deepen our breathing, we re-align the mind, body and spirit into deeper connections with ourselves and others!
We invite you to leave the stressors of the week behind (or at the studio door). Then come breathe into a new sense of freedom, clarity and relaxation as our mind, body and spirit are nourished with the breath of life! Please choose to wear loose comfortable clothing and (possibly bring) a wrap as body temperatures will vary. No experience necessary - as nothing but a "willingness" to reconnect to your breath is required!
A minimum number of registrants are needed to hold this class. To make sure it happens, please register in advance. (If you are currently enrolled in the unlimited plan, we need new registrants in addition to yourselves!) |

Pricing
* Series Classes
Series classes run on 4 week periods. Series registration is recommended, because you make a commitment to yourself and begin establishing a consistency for your practice. As a result, the series package price provides you with a considerable discount to the single class rate. A series is comprised of 4 classes within the 4 week period. For example, if you register for the Monday 5:30 pm Series class, we will meet every Monday for the 4 week period of the series. Should you miss a class during this time, you can make it up at any of the comparable classes offered, as long as it is made up during the period of the series. If you would like to attend classes twice a week you would register for two Series Classes, or for a more frequent practice, see the Unlimited Class offering. Unused classes cannot be carried over into the next Series, and Series classes are not transferable to other persons. Series registration is non-refundable.
